More Photo's of Afghanistan

. Here are more pic's I took while in Afghanistan.

The land up North, near the Kazikstan border is very vast, open, and a horror story for armored convoy operations. What an armor killing ground!

This town dates back to biblical days! I have forgotten the name. But it is located in Northern Afghanistan, on the road to Mazare Sharif.

This is the way that most women do dress in Afghanistan. The Berka is still worn. But it is worn as a matter of personal choice. It is not mandated, as the Taliban do not control the country! I will be posting photo's depicting women wearing the Berka.

Russian RPK machineguns, which we use during our convoy operations. Not a bad piece of hardware to have with you in  a firefight. They are very serviceable, and easy to clean. They function very well, and have a very high rate of fire. They are easy to tear down, and function easily! I'd like to have one of these back here in the US!

Wish I could have these back home. They function far better than our M-4's. And they seem to be easy to fire, their accuracy is very high, and their fire rate is better than the M-4. These were in our arms room.

This is the way that most people move their possessions in the countryside, in Afghanistan. These are beaudoins, who tend flocks of goats and sheep. Everything that they own is carried on their camels and on their burros. They move all over Afghanistan in this manner.
