Home at last! And more news.

November 1, 2009

Well, I am finally home. I have been back seince 18 September, 2009. Already I have been out West to New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma, and have visited many of the places and sites I have sorely missed, since my deployment to Afghanistan. I have made the decision to move to the West, and will be doing so soon. In terms of the past year's experiences, I have learned much and have been thoroughly disqusted with our government. I was almost killed this past deployment, vwhile at Baghram Air Force Base, during a rocket attack. Two other soldiers were killed, and several other personnel were wounded. I had the distasteful occasion to be at the very location of the attack, when it occurred. And I witnessed the death of one of our guys, a SGT Jones. I am still shocked at the level of sudden, intense and destructive violence which happened. But the Taliban are to blame, as is our military leadership, not the American people.

Instead of having night time patrols around the camp, the immediate vicinity and it area of operations, the leadership simply stayed within its perimeter, and just waited for something to happen. The intended target was a fallen comrades ceremony which was being performed ont he tar mack. But, as usual, and true to form, the insurgents missed their target, but, also killed two other soldiers who were doing their duty for the country, and they wounded several others. Insurgency, guerilla tactics, and COIN in the far flung areas of the world is the current mantra of insurgency which exists around the world.

But our ciuvilian leadership is just content to negotiate our way through these conflict sites. WE CANNOT negotiate with the Taliban. YOU HAVE TO GO OUT, place boots on the ground, HUNT THEM DOWN AND KILL THEM! They ar now threatening Pakistan, which actually originally created the Taliban, and India. Both nations are nuclear powers, and they are now targets for the Taliban insurgency.  We will eventually have to go inside Pakistan, with boots on the ground, and take out the Taliban strong holds, destroy their ability to fight, and actually kill the enemy. NONE of the Taliban are Afghani. All are Peshtun Pakistani, with the exception of foreigh insurgents who are from Yemen, Oman,m Saudi Arabia, Chechnyia, and other Islamic centers that foster radical Islam.

The military higher ups, who are located at Camp Eggers, Camp Phoenix, and Baghram are doing a disfavor to all fighting personnel, by not centering their focus on special operations, expanding the training of Afghani Special Forces, within the Afghan Special Partnering Unit, and providing the logistical support necessary for those endeavors to succeed. AInstead of inquiring whether or not logistical needs are being immediately filled, and drastically shortening the lag time between contract bids, and actual beginning of logistic support operations, I actually witnessed a ONE STAR General offficer chew out a Captain, who was my partner, because his sleeves were rolled up, and he was not wearing a soft cap. This was done, in spite of the fact that our uniforms ere full and soaked to the bone with diesel fuel, that we were up, without sleep for almost 24 hours, and that I was continually swallowing about a cup full of diesel fuel on a daily basis, due to the lack of proper diesel pumping tanker vehicles, which were needed to fill 150 liter generators daily. This one star General, whom I had known since he, himself, was a captain, was totally not read in to the program up until several weeks before his visit. ANd this was the only time we actually saw him on our FOB, during my entire 6 month duration there as the FOB Mayor and FOB Commander, in charge of logistical support for the special operations branch of this training site and training program. Give me a break folks! We also had to walk around the area in Amber status, with our magazines in our weapons, but not chambered. And at Cemp Phoenix, you had to go around carrying a weapon in Green status, totally unloaded, in a War Zone. In addition, we had to salute officers, on the base, in a War Zone, making them an instant target for insurgents, infiltrators, and snipers, located outside the wire.....................Some combat zone.

This is an absolute stupid and unsuccessful way to eradicate the enemy. And the Taliban are the enemy of Western civilization. Their brand of Islam is radical and not tolerant of other cultures.  The local Afghani people I came into contact with, to a man, all hate the Taliban. And the members of the Afghan military were opponents of the Taliban. What these Peshtun vermin did to the local populace, was just as destructive as the Russian Soviet Communist forces had been, both to the people, the environment, and the nations' ability to conduct business and exist as a free nation, among nations. These Islamic radicals would cut offf the fingers, the ears and noses of local Afghani citizens who wanted to vote, and who desired an education for their children. WE HAVE TO STOP them from spreading their radical brand of Islam all over the region, in Pakistan and in India. We have to fight, wage war and destroy them.

They are out of control in Pakistan, where they were originally created......by the Pakistani government.  And they are, now, threatening Indian civilization. There is no other way to stop them. YOU CANNOT NEGOTIATE WITH THEM!

We must keep Special Operations on the ground there, without incumberance, with the proven ability to seek out the enemy, bring superior forces to bear, take the interior lines, and kill them. We must destroy the Taliban. Al Qaida will remain in the region, as long as the Taliban are strong enough to strike back. But they will not remain in so called safe havens. They have learned their lesson since 9-1-1. ANd they have evolved. They willl no longer stay within geographic boundries of nations, to train and strike at Western civilization. But they are closely tied with the Taliban. And their ties have gotten stronger since the war began, as a result of our leadership failing to win the war, once again, with political correctness, as they lost the war in Viet Nam..................................................................The Littlewolf
