Mr. Rick A. Pere has served, for over 20 years, in the U.S. Army, the Illinois Army National Guard, and the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He has served as an Airborne/Infantry soldier, Infantry, Scout, Platoon Sergeant and Platoon Leader, Weapons Instructor, teaching Light Infantry Weapons marksmanship, weapons safety and maintenance. Mr. Pere is a TRADOC Certified, Military Instructor, specializing in military subjects, and is a graduate of the U.S. Army Infantry ANCOC academy. He has also served as an ANCOC Course Instructor. He has also served as an Infantry marksmanship instructor, a Range Master, an M-60 Machinegun instructor, a Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Warfare Team Leader and instructor, with reference to WMD detection operations, a Readiness NCO, and a Physical Security Specialist. He has worked as a plotter in RAOC TOC Operations. And he has also served as a full time, Chief of Security for a State ANG military installation. He has also served as a Field First Sergeant and an Infantry/Scout Platoon Sergeant. He possesses a current Secret level DOD Security Clearance.

He has conducted training, teaching small unit, fire team tactics. Also, he was responsible for training management, in support of scout/infantry operations. Mr. Pere holds a Certification as an EOD/Military Munitions Technician, from the U.S. Air Force. And he has also served as a Police Officer for over 15 years, as a Gang Crimes Investigator, with Certifications as a Youth Officer, Field Training Officer, Certified Police Academy Instructor, Certified Homicide Investigator, Police Firearms Instructor, Master Police Firearms Instructor, Rifle Instructor, and has served also as a Police Department Range Master, Swat Team Instructor, teaching police support and team/crew served weapons. He possesses expert skill level in Topographical Map Reading, and Land Navigation skills. He also have served as a SWAT team competition judge and instructor at the SITE, teaching SWAT Teams, Police Street Survival Tactics/Techniques, and also serves as an Instructor for Mr. John Farnam at Defense Training Intl (DTI).

 He is the owner/operator of the Personal Protection Group, teaching Street Survival, and Combat Pistol/Rifle Marksmanship Skills, Tactical Pistol/Rifle Marksmanship Skills, and the Combat Mindset. Mr. Pere holds a Master Combat Firearms Instructor’s Certification from The Police Training Institute (PTI), which is located at the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana, Illinois. Mr. Pere is a combat pistol, shotgun and tactical rifle marksman, and a long range sharpshooter.

Mr. Pere is a highly qualified Infantry and Police weapons instructor. He has worked in Afghanistan, Iraq, and in Haiti. Mr. Pere has served as a resource for the Chicago Tribune. He has also served as a terrorism consultant for the Fox News Network. And he has also been utilized both by The Chicago Tribune, CNN and the Fox News Network for expert subject matter consultation, and as a security consultant, on Chemical, Biological, Nuclear Terrorism, and International Islamic Fundamentalist Terrorism.
